Position purpose: Communicate by answering patients' concerns, and schedule appointments by delivering excellent patient care via phone. Must be able to document appropriately and communicate with physicians, providers, and medical assistants.

Responsibilities/Tasks:
  • Effective/strong telephone skills.
  • Knowledge of multiple insurance providers.
  • Knowledge of E-Rx medical prescriptions to patient's pharmacy.
  • Help with patient's prior authorizations so patient can receive medications timely.
  • Ability to communicate with providers whether through emails or phone calls.
  • Competent with the terminology needed to perform the job.
  • Able to schedule appointments with multiple providers using Next Gen Practice Management.
  • Good understanding of using EMA Electronic Medical Records.
  • Able to triage phone calls. Can help answer the patient's questions.
  • Help direct the phone call to the appropriate team when needed.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize each day.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member with providers and other staff.
  • Self-starter.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Create a culture of patient excellence and delivering customer service.
  • To go above and beyond for patient satisfaction.
Qualifications

Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Certified Medical Assistant is preferred but not required.
  • Medical Assistant training is required.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working in a doctor's office.
  • Prior dermatology experience is preferred.
  • Quality written and verbal communication skills.
  • Prior Phone Triage experience is preferred.
  • Professional in appearance and mannerisms.
  • Understand dermatology terminology.
  • Able to demonstrate compassion and caring when dealing with others, patients, and coworkers.
  • Able to prioritize tasks, understand the provider's instructions, and know when to seek information or advice.
  • EMA experience is preferred.

Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.

Physical Requirements: Must possess manual dexterity to operate office machines including computer and calculator; stooping and bending to handle files and supplies; and mobility to complete errands or deliveries. Includes handling of sharps and chemicals.
