Join us as our new Account Manager

This position works under limited direction and is primarily responsible (70%) for the sale of culture and enzyme products into food manufacturing plants (cheese, yogurt, cottage cheese, sour cream, plant based, etc) with an assigned territory (Northeastern United States). This position will be responsible for 30% technical service and support of customers and account managers. Other responsibilities include providing customer service on related products and accounts as well as in field technical assistance.

In this role, you'll make a difference by:

  • Meetingor exceedingsales budget targets on a year-to-year basis.

  • Securingexisting business from regular customers and findingnew business from prospective customers.

  • Negotiatingcontracts and other legal documents involving in-depth product, industry, pricing and competitive information.

  • Formulatingand recommendingan in-depth account strategy for assigned territory based on customer needs and requirements and carries out as approved.Utilizingkey selling strategies and creatingcorporate selling strategy plans as needed

  • Maintainingand protectingcurrent business with customers utilizing business retention model.Maintains multi-level contacts with key customers; keeps them informed of price trends, new products and new uses in the development of sales.

  • Providingtechnical service and assistance at customer locations including (but not limited to) trial design, data collection, execution, new product launch, troubleshooting, training, phage audit, plant optimization where appropriate and other duties as required.

  • Developinga margin improvement strategy at each of the defined accounts in conjunction with sales management.

  • Troubleshooting customer concerns and solvingroutine industry problems on-site (i.e. new products and uses, marketing efforts, new facilities, price trends). Informingmanagement of any significant developments immediately.


To succeed you must hold:

  • Possess an in-depth understanding and experience in dairy manufacture or fermented milk production (yogurt, cottage cheese, sour cream), cheese making (American, Pasta Filata styles preferred), plant based fermentation an added benefit

  • Possess good negotiation and follow-up skills.

  • Ability to develop, plan, and implement short and long range goals.

  • Must have technical skills to know the right questions to ask of customers.

  • Must be a self-starter with drive and initiative and work with little supervision.

  • Must have a passion for the food industry.

  • Ability to travel up to 70% of working time.

  • These characteristics are normally acquired through a Bachelors degree in a scientific field, food technology or chemistry preferred, and a minimum of five years of sales experience.
