About the role:
The Sr. Financial Analyst is a critical role within KalVista. Reporting to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, you will be an integral member of the Finance and Accounting team, responsible for supporting the development of annual budgets, monthly financial reporting, forecast updates, long term planning and ongoing process improvement initiatives. The ability to effectively collaborate with the Finance and Accounting team and budget owners across the organization is central to this role.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the VP of Finance and Director of FP&A with annual budget process and quarterly reforecast process
- Assist with monthly budget vs. actual reporting
- Support headcount expense forecasting and tracking
- Assist with management and upkeep of business planning system (Planning Maestro)
- Provide financial analysis and modeling support for budget owners
- Partner with Accounting to support process changes and system upgrades
- Assist with tracking monthly project accruals
- Other ad hoc financial modeling and analysis, as needed
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3-5 years relevant FP&A experience, Biotech/Pharmaceutical, preferred
- Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
- Strong analytical, problem solving and financial troubleshooting skills
- Good interpersonal skills, including ability to translate financial concepts to individuals at all levels, including finance and non-finance managers
- Experience with business planning software (Planning Maestro, Adaptive or other)
- Must be proficient in Excel
- Experience with accounting accruals
- Experience working with financial models
- Strong understanding of systems, analytical tools, financial modeling, and data management
