COMPANY: LOCATION: TITLE: HOURS: DUTIES: TRAVEL: REQUIREMENTS: Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. 168 Third Avenue, Waltham, MA 02451 Sr. Staff Engineer, Software Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm • Lead and direct the efforts of globally located development teams. • Lead and mentor a team of Software Engineers to allow for skill and knowledge development through advice, coaching, career planning and training opportunities. • Coordinate with stakeholders, product management to determine software solution requirements. • Manage the development, deployment, and integration of software solutions. • Build strong relationships with cross-functional team members and business stakeholders. • Share business and technical learning with the broader engineering and product organization, while adapting approach for different audiences. • Work collaboratively across the Technology, UX, and Product organizations to ensure alignment towards business goals. Reports to company headquarters in Waltham, MA. Can work remotely or telecommute. MINIMUM Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or a related field of study. MINIMUM Experience Requirement: 6 years of experience as a Software Developer, Program Analyst or a related occupation. Alternative Education and Experience Requirement: Master’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or related field of study and 4 years of experience as a Software Developer, Program Analyst or a related occupation. Required knowledge or experience with: • .NET and C#; • Agile and Iterative methodologies; • Developing and implementing large software systems; • AWS or similar cloud platform; • Integrating distributed computing environments with the Cloud; • Ability to provide in-depth evaluation and analysis of unique complex technological issues; • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment; 56086028.v1-IMMIGRATION • API design, including versioning, isolation and micro-services; • REST APIs; • Designing and documenting internal and external (commercial) APIs using API documentation frameworks; • Collaborating with cross functional teams and Multi-geography, distributed teams; and • Software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile/iterative methodologies. #LI-DNI
