Position Summary

This position will function as the Strategic Engagement Project Manager reporting directly to Waséyabek’s Director of Strategic Engagement. The incumbent in this position is responsible for supporting a wide range of Tribal outreach and engagement activities and programs and requires a proactive and detail-oriented professional with excellent organizational, communication, people, and problem-solving skills. The position will work closely with internal and external stakeholders involved in Tribal outreach and engagement.

Essential Job Functions include, but not limited to, the following:
  • Provide administrative support to the Director of Strategic Engagement, including scheduling meetings, coordinating travel arrangements, organizing events, and managing company expenses.
  • Act as the secretary for Department run meetings including, but not limited to, the Strategic Engagement Steering Committee, HR Engagement Meetings, and Firekeepers/NHBP/ Waséyabek Collaboration Meetings.
  • Serve as a member on relevant steering committees and external associations as needed, providing input and executing assigned tasks.
  • Draft emails, memos, alerts, presentations and marketing materials supporting the company’s strategic outreach activities, partnering with the Marketing and Human Resources teams as needed.
  • Plan and execute Tribal engagement events and programs including, but not limited to, office brown bags, culture training, NHBP Tribal events, volunteer events, engagement/team-building activities, job fairs, and the Leadership Exploration and Development (LEAD) program.
  • Maintain the company’s Tribal contact list and respond to Tribal member questions and inquiries.
  • Search for grant opportunities supporting the Company’s Tribal outreach strategy, prepare grant applications, and track awards.
  • Assist with stocking and managing Tribal SWAG.
  • Help develop and manage a database tracking strategic outreach contacts and activities.
  • Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Director of Strategic Engagement, providing support and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment by building strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Identify and train back-up(s) to manage key tasks when absent

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Applicants must possess any education, training or experience necessary to perform all essential duties and responsibilities associated with the position. Education, training and experience indicative of an individual’s ability to perform all essential job duties and responsibilities include the following:
  • A Bachelor’s degree with a business concentration preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in event planning, project management, executive administrative support and/or non-profit administration.
  • Strong English writing, oral, presentation and communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Highly organized with proven experience managing complex projects and/or coordinating large events from start to finish.
  • Proven experience developing presentation and marketing materials with little guidance or support.
  • Self-starter with excellent time management and attention to detail skills.
  • Prior experience handling extremely sensitive employee data and information.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and composure in high stress situations.
  • Proven track record building trusted stakeholder relationships at all career levels and maintaining relationships in a team-oriented environment.
  • Steward the organizational culture with a focus on teamwork and commitment to service amidst a diverse colleague and customer base.
  • Ability to quickly adapt focus, adjust schedule and problem solve to meet evolving work demands and needs of supervisor and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Ability to pass a background investigation, including but not limited to nationwide criminal record search, and other relevant background information deemed necessary by Waséyabek.
