Description:

This BI Developer is responsible for creating and managing BI and analytic solutions that turn data into knowledge. This role is crucial for the operational efficiency at our client as this has been a huge emphasis for the past 5 years. This developer should be analytical, an excellent communicator (they will likely be part of meetings with key stakeholders), have business acumen and a problem solving aptitude. They will work in a team with other BI, ETL, and report developers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Interpret business requirements into technical code

• Design, develop and deploy BI solutions and reporting tools

• Develop BI semantic models such as Tabular Models and Multidimensional Cubes using Azure Analysis Services.

• Develop structured and highly formatted reports using Power BI Desktop and Report Builder for paginated reports

• Collaborate with other developers, business analysts, and architects to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain BI solutions built on Microsoft technologies.

• Develop and update technical documentation

• Evaluate and improve existing BI systems

• Review developer code for adherence to best practices

• Maintain and support data analytics platforms

EXPERIENCE NEEDED:

• BE or BS degree in one of the following subject areas: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field preferred. OR 3-5 additional years of related and transferable experience in lieu of a degree

• 3-5 years of experience as a BI Developer or similar position with strong understanding of the BI pipeline and how to solve complex business problems

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  1. Experience with MDX for Multidimensional Cubes development.

  2. Proficiency with SSRS or Power BI Paginated Report development.
