Summary Reporting to the Director of Materials, the Inventory Specialist will assist in daily operations of the Materials department. Assist Materials department to ensure inventory is available when needed in support of aircraft maintenance activities within the hangar and while deployed to field locations. Have a working knowledge of the stores department inventory. Order and maintain a working stock of inventory. Daily oversight of parts cage, tracking parts and items for check out/check in. Demonstrate required computer and language skills to accomplish day-to-day tasks. Demonstrate physical ability for heavy lifting. Display skills for operation of AFI maintenance equipment. Check and maintain satellite storage hangars. Ensure calculations, quantities and part serial numbers correct when entering or pulling inventory. Ensure all discrepancies are accounted for and appropriately documented. Other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Exceptional ability to communicate and convey information, inter/ intradepartmental, via multiple mediums. The noise level in the work environment is usually at a typical office level and while in the hangar with frequent periods of moderately loud noises. Exposure to industrial chemical smells, fragrances, animals, etc. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
