Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.

We want you to help us in our mission by leading TEC business development and sales activities in the United States, focusing on government organizations including Civil and Defense clients.

The Exploration Company was founded in and continues to grow throughout Europe. A wholly owned subsidiary, The Exploration Company US LLC was established in May, 2024 to expand the company's presence in the United States. The US Business Development Senior Manager will be part of the US team and will work closely with the European-based business development team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage The Exploration Company's US government-focused business development strategy and plans.
  • Identify new business and sales opportunities with various public and US government organizations such as space agencies and defense agencies.
  • In collaboration with the existing TEC commercial development team, develop other (eg, commercial) business opportunities in the US.
  • Manage and deliver Company bids. Negotiate the contractualization of selected proposals.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships within the US space industry. Identify and establish US partners for cooperative projects.
  • Represent the company in public events and maintain client relationships by attending workshops, conferences, and meetings.
  • Be the Point of Contact for US based TEC events and support strong collaboration across business team members throughout the company.
What we would love to see from you
  • Business development and sales experience in the US aerospace industry. Experience in both civil and defense related space sectors is highly valued.
  • Good understanding and experience with the US government bid / proposal process.
  • Ability to create high trust relationships with government employees, customers and partners.
  • Experience with international contracts, partnerships and collaborations, and experience with Export Control requirements and with other applicable US laws and regulations highly valued.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teams from across the company including technical, financial, business and operations to accomplish goals.
  • Passion for the aerospace industry and excitement to grow The Exploration Company within the US.
Compensation & Benefits:

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of phantom company stock, as well as potential discretionary bonuses.

Benefits include medical, dental and vision coverage, basic and supplemental life insurance, paid parental leave, short and long-term disability, and a 401(k) with a company match of up to 4%. This role is classified as "exempt" from overtime under applicable law.

You will accrue 25 days of paid vacation & will be eligible for 10 paid holidays per year. Exempt employees are eligible for 10 days of sick leave per year.
