Overview

Primary Responsibilities

The Receiving Clerk is responsible for maintaining inventory counts and quality control procedures for incoming product shipments. Their duties include unloading delivery trucks and checking incoming shipments against bills of lading and purchase orders, organizing, and storing shipments until they receive outgoing order requests and notifying management personnel when they don't have enough of a particular product to fulfill orders.

Essential Functions:

• Assist in unloading and unpacking shipments of products

• Inspect shipments for damage and correct quantities

• Report damages or shortages to the appropriate person

• Match shipments to their associated purchase orders and enter receiving data on paperwork

• Record receiving data in company databases

• Prepare and organize received stock for inventory

Assistant with inventory control

• Return damaged products to senders

• Monitor inventory levels

Specific Job Skills and Qualifications

• Basic math and organization skills

• Ability to bend and lift 50 pounds or more

• Detail-oriented mindset

• Data entry and computer skills

• Forklift certification is beneficial for unloading large shipments

• Ability to work on feet for long hours

• Excellent communication skills

• Understanding of safety protocols and requirements

• Familiarity with building materials
