Position Overview

Reports To: Receiving Supervisor

Shift: Day Shift starting at 7:00 AM

Compensation: $24.80 per hour

Employment Type: Full-time


Key Responsibilities

The primary focus of the Receiving Specialist is to accurately count, measure, and weigh incoming shipments to ensure they match the documentation provided. Key responsibilities include:

  • Unloading trucks and documenting case counts, weights, quality, and temperatures.
  • Receiving and recording inbound shipments.
  • Inspecting shipments for accuracy in quantity and quality.
  • Organizing inventory across multiple storage facilities.
  • Identifying and reporting damaged or expired items.
  • Coordinating the pickup and return of products.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workstation in compliance with sanitation standards.
  • Adhering to Safety Quality Food (SQF) Level 3 protocols (training provided).
  • Conducting quality control checks following Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines (training provided).
  • Flexibility to work various shifts as needed to accommodate customer requirements.
  • Performing additional tasks as assigned by Supervisors and Managers.

Qualifications
  • Prior experience in a warehouse setting.
  • Forklift operation experience - certification required within 30 days of employment.
  • Proficiency in basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division (Math Skills Test required).
  • Physical stamina and strength to meet job demands.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to pass a drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience driving a 14–20-foot box truck.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

Work Environment

The work environment is representative of those encountered while performing essential job functions. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Employees may be exposed to wet conditions and extreme cold. The noise level is typically moderate.


Physical Demands

Employees must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, and seldom lift up to 100 pounds. Employees should also be able to push and pull up to 100 pounds when necessary.

Regular activities include standing, walking, using hands for handling or feeling, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and talking, seeing, and hearing.
