Position Overview:

We are seeking a talented and motivated Architect Intern to join our team. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to work on a variety of projects, gaining valuable experience in drafting, design, and project management. The ideal candidate will be a current student at the University of Las Vegas, majoring in Architecture, and in good academic standing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of architectural designs for both interior and exterior projects.
  • Create detailed drafting and construction documents using CAD software.
  • Collaborate with the design team to develop innovative solutions and design concepts.
  • Participate in site visits and client meetings to gather project requirements and feedback.
  • Contribute to the preparation of presentation materials, including renderings and models.
  • Support project management tasks, including coordination with contractors and suppliers.
  • Perform research on design trends, materials, and building codes.
Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student in the Architecture program at the University of Las Vegas.
  • Good academic standing with a strong portfolio showcasing design and drafting skills.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Strong understanding of architectural principles, building codes, and construction processes.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Passion for innovative design and a keen eye for detail.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

May require some short distance travel.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is required to read and interpret documents, instructions, and manuals, as well as to communicate effectively.

REASONING ABILITY:

The ability to apply logical thinking to execute instructions and resolve problems is crucial.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Applicants must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The role requires regular standing, manual dexterity, and the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally. The incumbent must also be able to perform duties in varying work conditions, such as confined spaces.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, and the role may occasionally require exposure to an environment containing unrestricted second-hand tobacco smoke. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities.
