This position is responsible for providing Advanced Practice Provider services to patients in an outpatient and inpatient setting. The successful candidate will work as part of a care team at both the UNLV Health outpatient clinic and inpatient hospital settings.
Key Responsibilities- Work in conjunction with physicians, administrative management, nursing, and other interprofessional team members to facilitate patient care and management throughout the healthcare system.
- Exercise independent judgment in the assessment, diagnosis, and initiation of medical processes and procedures commensurate with training and experience.
- Perform and document comprehensive health histories and physical assessments, including initiation of CPR or other appropriate emergency therapy as needed.
- Formulate diagnoses, identify problems, and health risk profiles, document, and clearly communicate with other members of the healthcare team.
- Perform, order, and interpret diagnostic studies, such as x-rays and laboratory tests, in consultation with peers and colleagues.
- Assume a proactive role in patient/family education and patient/family satisfaction in the practice setting.
- Assume personal accountability to enhance the patient experience by using high-quality, patient satisfaction-directed interactions/tools/activities in the execution of duties.
- Interact with patients and families in a compassionate and respectful manner at all times.
- Participate in training of staff, students, and residents, and as requested by Department Chair, Pediatric Surgery Division Chief, supervisors, mentors, and provide education on areas of expertise.
- Graduate of an accredited graduate school of nursing or physician assistant program with a master's degree.
- License in the State of Nevada as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or ability to be licensed prior to the start date.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) is preferred.
- Clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 8AM to 5PM (actual hours may vary depending on business need).
- 12 paid holidays per year, starting with your first day of employment.
- 20+ PTO days per year (depending on position).
- 3% 401K contribution, even if you do not contribute.
- Medical, dental, and vision benefits that start the first of the month following your start date.
- CPR certifications reimbursed by UNLV Health.
- Pay may be higher than listed range, based on years of experience.
