Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing Advanced Practice Provider services to patients in an outpatient and inpatient setting. The successful candidate will work as part of a care team at both the UNLV Health outpatient clinic and inpatient hospital settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work in conjunction with physicians, administrative management, nursing, and other interprofessional team members to facilitate patient care and management throughout the healthcare system.
  • Exercise independent judgment in the assessment, diagnosis, and initiation of medical processes and procedures commensurate with training and experience.
  • Perform and document comprehensive health histories and physical assessments, including initiation of CPR or other appropriate emergency therapy as needed.
  • Formulate diagnoses, identify problems, and health risk profiles, document, and clearly communicate with other members of the healthcare team.
  • Perform, order, and interpret diagnostic studies, such as x-rays and laboratory tests, in consultation with peers and colleagues.
  • Assume a proactive role in patient/family education and patient/family satisfaction in the practice setting.
  • Assume personal accountability to enhance the patient experience by using high-quality, patient satisfaction-directed interactions/tools/activities in the execution of duties.
  • Interact with patients and families in a compassionate and respectful manner at all times.
  • Participate in training of staff, students, and residents, and as requested by Department Chair, Pediatric Surgery Division Chief, supervisors, mentors, and provide education on areas of expertise.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited graduate school of nursing or physician assistant program with a master's degree.
  • License in the State of Nevada as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or ability to be licensed prior to the start date.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) is preferred.

  • Clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 8AM to 5PM (actual hours may vary depending on business need).
  • 12 paid holidays per year, starting with your first day of employment.
  • 20+ PTO days per year (depending on position).

  • CPR certifications reimbursed by UNLV Health.
  • Pay may be higher than listed range, based on years of experience.
