Life Enrichment Assistant

Description

Position Summary:

The Life Enrichment Assistant/Driver is responsible for assisting with activities in the community and driving residents to medical appointments and outings. All responsibilities will be conducted in a manner that is consistent with the philosophy of the community's mission, vison and values and the Resident's Bill of Rights.

The following is an outline of responsibilities and not intended to be a comprehensive list of responsibilities and may change from time to time.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Drive residents to appointments and outings.
  • Perform trip inspections on assigned vehicles to ensure they are in good working order.
  • Prepare vehicles for transport by facilitating and coordinating logistics including daily drive schedule, location for pick-up & drop off, appointment times/dates, communication with riders and other duties directly related to driving residents to and from Hearthstone at Murrayhill.
  • Assist residents with boarding and exiting the vehicles and ensure that they are properly secured.
  • Use standard GPS to map routes and destinations.
  • Properly Park vehicles.
  • Assist with preventative and scheduled maintenance.
  • Welcome new residents.
  • Assist with development and implementation of activities.
  • Assist with special events and holiday activities.
  • Monitor residents' overall well-being and report any changes of resident status to supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Be at least 25 years old.
  • Valid driver's license with an excellent driving record (commercial license NOT needed)
  • Ability to drive residents the following vehicles: 14 passenger bus, van and town car.
  • Previous Senior Living experience preferred - but will train the right person.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Physical job requirements:
  • Must be able to lift/push up to 30 pounds.
  • Must be able to lift, stand, bend, squat, crawl, reach, and kneel using good body mechanics for sustained periods of time.
  • Must possess sight/hearing, or use prosthetics, that are adequate to meet the requirements of this position
