Job Description

Steel Detailer - Structural Steel

Our client, a commercial structural steel fabricator/erector has an opening for a Structural Steel Detailer/Draftsman to join their team.

Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret contract drawings and specifications.
  • Create fabrication/erection drawings and Bill of Materials for structural and misc. steel projects.
  • Work closely with project Engineers and Architects to interpret/resolve design issues.
  • Create and submit RFI's as necessary.
  • Work closely with fabrication team to interpret/resolve layout and/or detail issues.
  • Ability to check/redline the work of other Steel Detailers
  • Perform field measurements to translate into custom layouts and fabrication drawings, as required.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned
Skills/Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience (preferred)
  • SDS/2 experience preferred, but not required.
  • AutoCAD experience
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Self-motivated, organized, strong communication skills.
