  • Improve workflows, set design standards in accordance with best practices, and ensure quality completion of assigned work
  • Document project requirements, system level requirements, and final design reports. Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Work with vendors to establish and execute contractual work
  • Hands-on mechanical design that meets system and DFMA requirements
  • Guidance and review of mechanical design for all team members
  • Ensures reliable operation of wave energy products through engineering analysis, testing, and establishment of maintenance requirements
  • Support the implementation of a Product Data Management (PDM) system
  • Work hands on with the team and prioritize their development and growth
  • Protects operations by keeping proprietary information confidential
  • Communicate engineering challenges and results to senior management
  • Travel of domestic & international work assignments (~20%)
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Needed:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; Masters preferred
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Experience designing mechanical systems including gearboxes, couplers, electric machines, and machined parts
  • FEA and Fatigue analysis experience
  • Experience using MATLAB is a plus
  • Experience with Ocean Engineering, Naval Architecture, or Marine Engineering is a plus
