The ideal candidate will have experience with Windows and Linux servers, Docker containers, and VMware environments. This position is based in Newport News, Virginia.

  • Primary Responsibilities
    • System Administration: Install, configure, administer, and maintain systems and associated hardware, focusing on environments hosting the UNICORN application.
    • Configuration and Deployment: Configure physical and virtual systems according to best practices and functional specifications for the dev environment.
    • Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage backup and recovery processes for the IT infrastructure supporting the dev environment.
    • System Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Review system performance logs, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, and maintain detailed system documentation.
    • Security and Compliance: Monitor and implement security measures to protect systems and ensure compliance with relevant security standards and policies.
    • Storage and Performance Management: Allocate storage space effectively for systems hosting the development environment, continuously tune system performance, and address system vulnerabilities.
    • Collaboration and Communication: Work with project managers and communicate technical solutions effectively to colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Basic Qualifications
    • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
    • Eligibility for US DoD Top Secret SCI clearance; US citizenship required.
    • Experience in system administration, virtual environments, system tuning, and storage allocation.
    • Hands-on experience with Docker, VMware, and backup and recovery processes.
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • US citizenship, with the ability to meet additional security requirements.
    • Certification in Microsoft, Linux, Docker, or Kubernetes.
