Business Management Associates (BMA) is seeking a Classification Specialist who will provide position management and classification support, including reviewing and analyzing specific occupational series and other organizational information (e.g., mission, functional statements, and organizational charts).

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Provide classification recommendations that will best support the organization's strategic goals.
  • Utilize the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) classification standards and any applicable agency guidance to complete a full range of tasks.
  • Classify positions and complete desk audits in accordance with the Federal Wage System (FWS) and/or General Schedule (GS).
  • Additional job duties may apply

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have a understanding of OPM's Classification standards and the Federal Wage System (FWS) amongst other pay grades
  • Sufficient technical proficiency with databases, automated systems i.e, SharePoint.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a government background investigation and must meet eligibility and suitability requirements.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree and at least five (5) years of position classification/management and/or compensation experience for the Federal government.
  • Additional three (3) years of related position classification or similar experience in the public or private sector may substitute for the Bachelor's degree
