Summary of Position:

We are seeking an experienced and talented Classification Specialist will be responsible for performing a full range of technical and administrative human resources management services relating to classification. Technical experts will also assist the Workforce Planning Division in the implementation of a new initiative to create models that will assess the workload and resources needed with Administrative, Professional and Technical staff.

Responsibilities:

  • The Classification Specialist shall perform duties in order to produce the following outcome:
  • Position Descriptions for review
  • Factor Evaluation Sheets
  • Decision Documents for review
  • Memorandums
  • Evaluating and classifying positions in the General Schedule (Client) and Wage Grade (WG)
  • Updating and writing position descriptions for review
  • Conducting position reviews
  • Providing guidance and assistance to supervisors and managers concerning major realignments of work
  • Planning, initiating, developing, and conducting classification studies through research
  • Drafting decision documents and memorandums for final review
  • Evaluating statements and recommendations on sensitive issues

Requirements:

  • Personnel shall have 7-10 years of experience working as an HR Specialist.
  • Experience using HR systems such as PeopleSoft (HR Connect) and Secret ServiceHire / Monster Government Solutions, the National Finance Center and Office of Personnel Management eOPF is preferred.
  • The staff will also be required to research information on human resources and assess corresponding laws.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to obtain a minimum of a Secret Clearance
