Department Overview
The Evidence Product Management team owns the roadmap for delivering Motorola Solutions' body cameras, vehicle cameras and evidence management software. These products are used world-wide to keep communities and individuals safe in public safety and enterprise organizations. To help drive our rapid growth, we are looking for an enthusiastic product owner to join this team, and take ownership of one of our evidence software products.

Job Description

Do you want to help us solve for safer?

We want an enthusiastic associate product owner to initially take ownership of the integration between our Evidence software products, and multiple other software products in the Motorola solutions portfolio.

You will:
  • Engage with the business and stakeholders, to enable the delivery of the product vision and roadmap, in a business-value-oriented manner.
  • Make timely and decisive decisions regarding product development priorities for their attached team(s), including balancing support product backlog items, technical debt and new features.
  • Work with Product Managers and technical leaders to understand the product requirements and enable their delivery by the product team.
  • Work alongside and with the development teams, to assist in the creation of well-maintained, refined, prioritized product backlogs that include consistent and measurable "definitions of done".
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders, to present the current state of the backlog so it is understood by the relevant stakeholders.
  • Define product release plans, including measuring their progress towards completion and tracking the predictability
Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of agile software development and management best practices, including build environments and automated testing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to understand and communicate the product roadmap & vision to the development team, refine product backlog items, and report progress to a wide audience, including the business, product management stakeholders, and the development teams
  • English language skills at level allowing efficient and effective communication
  • Self-motivated, positive attitude, an ability and desire to motivate others
This position is potentially subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" which would require successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.

Basic Requirements

BS in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related technical discipline with 3+ years of professional experience or an MS degree.
Knowledge of software applications and solutions development
Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer.
