Job Description

Performance Contracting is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer for its PCI Knoxville 144 operations based in Knoxville, TN. This individual will provide construction management support to projects in a variety of scopes which may include insulation, interior systems, insulted metal panels, firestopping, etc. This individual will also be responsible for the following duties: 

  • Perform labor control on assigned projects, including setup and maintenance
  • Prepare RFI’s and submittals
  • Quantitative takeoffs to verify estimates, order materials, and price change orders
  • Create and implement job schedules and coordinate with field supervisors and foremen
  • Create and manage punch lists and job closeout documentation 
  • Support the Quality Control measures outlined in the QA/QC program
Requirements

Basic Requirements: 

  • Minimum 4-7 years’ experience in a construction management role (e.g., Field Engineer, Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or related discipline, or comparable work experience 
  • OSHA 30 certification
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
  • A clear understanding of how to read and understand specifications and drawings
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to learn new job skills by engaging in the technical aspects of the job and applying new skills as they are taught
  • Excellent customer service skills and an ability to build strong working relationships with customers 
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Motivated self-starter with strong work ethic and a willingness to take initiative
  • Works well under pressure and deadlines
  • Willingness to learn and manage a variety of scopes of work over time, including but not limited to insulation, metal panels, drywall, metal stud framing, firestopping

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with insulation, interior systems, and/or metal panels construction is highly preferred
  • Local to the Knoxville metro area highly preferred
