Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of processes and procedures improving service strategy and cost control plan of the business for the entire process.
  • Coordinates with other operational resources, developing the strategic and tactical direction for all locations, establish management processes and metrics for performance and be accountable for financial performance of the logistics business.
  • Build a world class team, develop high level service offerings, motivate and lead staff.
  • Strong negotiation ability. (Carrier, Customer, Margin Integrity).
  • Develop and execute business plan strategies for operations.
  • Develop and manage KPI's for logistics.
  • Performing special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned by Senior Group General manager and other senior management for operations.
  • Work within and implement company policy as outlined in the companies Code of Safe Practices, Standard Operating Procedures and OSHA Safety rules.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in SGGM.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong leadership abilities in proven logistic field.
  • Ability to build trust and confidence with management and supervision.
  • Strategic thinking and leadership skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced changing environment, ability to multitask is a must.

  • Basic to intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

  • Must be able to interact with all levels of management and have excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to manage and lead a diverse workforce.

Education and experience:

  • 5+ years progressive responsibility managing logistics management and development
  • BA preferred or equivalent years of experience
  • Truckmate Transportation Brokerage system

  • Qualcomm GPS
  • Road net TMS
  • Load Boards
  • Freight Calculator
