Construction Superintendent

As a Construction Superintendent, you will oversee and manage construction projects from initiation to completion. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring projects are executed efficiently, safely, and within budgetary constraints. You will be responsible for coordinating with various stakeholders, including subcontractors, architects, engineers, and clients, to ensure seamless project delivery while adhering to all relevant regulations and standards.

Primary Responsibilities

Project Planning and Coordination:
  • Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with project managers and stakeholders
  • Coordinate resources, materials, and equipment procurement to ensure timely project execution
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to clarify project specifications and resolve any discrepancies.
Site Management:
  • Oversee day-to-day construction activities, ensuring adherence to project schedules and safety protocols.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Address any issues or conflicts that arise on-site promptly and effectively to minimize delays and disruptions.
  • Conduct daily morning briefings with all members of job site
  • Conduct weekly safety meetings with all active members of site
  • Submit daily reports to project manager at conclusion of every work day.
  • Maintain cleanly, safe and productive job site at all times.
Team Leadership and Supervision:
  • Provide leadership and direction to construction teams, subcontractors, and employees, ensuring work is performed to high standards.
  • Assign tasks, set performance expectations, and provide guidance and support to team members as needed.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and collaboration among construction crews.
Quality Assurance and Control:
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure workmanship and materials meet project specifications and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality audits to identify and address deficiencies proactively.
  • Implement corrective actions and follow-up procedures to maintain quality throughout the construction process.
Client Communication and Relationship Management:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project progress, milestones, and budgetary matters.
  • Address client concerns or requests promptly and professionally, striving to exceed their expectations.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities to enhance project outcomes and facilitate future collaborations.
Role Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent or similar role in the construction industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and best practices.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and procedures.
  • Certification in construction management or related field (e.g., OSHA 30-Hour Certification) is a plus.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and the ability to pass a D.O.T. physical examination.
