The Opportunity Williams International is offering an exciting opportunity for a Lead Secondary Flow/Heat Transfer Analysis engineer to join our Cycle & Systems Analysis team. The candidate would have subject matter expert responsibility for the design, development, and troubleshooting of gas turbine internal cooling systems and associated components. The candidate will be responsible for providing primary system design analysis and optimization guidance in support of advanced design, research and development, certification/qualification, and production military and commercial programs. The Lead Secondary Flow/Heat Transfer Analysis engineer would work collaboratively with various project, mechanical, electrical, and turbomachinery aerodynamics and structural teams to obtain and share critical design data and information to ensure robust and efficient cooling system designs. Additional responsibilities and capabilities would include: Conducting failure investigation and discrepancy resolution assessments Providing innovative product improvement solutions and recommendations Supporting thermal, structural, and life prediction analyses Using flow network solver tools and methods to conduct system design and failure investigation analysis Developing test procedures and instrumentation requirements for conducting thermal survey testing Conducting bearing thrust load assessments Generating accurate and detailed technical assessments and reports Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering 5+years of prior relevant engineering experience Expert knowledge of heat transfer and fluid mechanics fundamentals Proficient knowledge of Flownex flow network solver simulation environment strongly desired Conjugate heat transfer methods experience a plus Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) experience a plus Working knowledge and familiarity of gas turbine or other heat engines and associated systems General knowledge of product life management processes Familiarity with FAA certification and US military qualification requirements a plus Must be willing to be on-call during off hours to support production issues when needed U. S. citizenship is required Position requires the ability to obtain a U. S. Government Security Clearance, if needed. Candidates selected may be subject to a U. S.
