Overview

Waters Corporation is currently seeking a Principal Software Engineer/Lead Developer to join our organization in our Milford Global HQ, with the flexibility to work remotely two or three days per week.

You will join our QA/QC R&D organization which develops liquid chromatography instrumentation hardware and software in a dynamic and collaborative environment. In this role, you, will lead an agile team into developing our next generation Empower data systems and data collaboration software Apps for cloud computing environment.

To be successful in this role, you need to have a solid full stack software development talent for cloud applications along with demonstrated technical team leadership skills. Prior experience with Chromatographic data systems is highly desirable for this role.  You also need to be comfortable with developing complex software systems from scratch as well as maintaining legacy code following Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop Chromatography Data System Applications in a cloud environment.
  • Assume lead developer role by establishing and following development best-practices, participating in, and initiating of code and design reviews, and coaching of junior members.
  • Coordinate team efforts and workload planning to ensure projects are delivered on time while meeting quality standards and business objectives.
  • Interface with product stakeholders to drive and refine requirements through proactive planning and defining of short-term and long-term deliverables.
  • Drive discussions on requirement refinement bringing the technology viewpoint into the solutions.
  • Develop long and short-term strategies for developing software, organizing the workload, and ensuring efficient use of team resources.
  • Communicate project progress and provide regular reports to leadership.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering preferably in a regulated development environment.
  • Strong C#, .Net Core, JSON, OOD experience.
  • Front end development using Angular, Typescript, Jasmine, and Karma testing frameworks.
  • Web page technologies HTML, CSS, REST APIs.
  • Development tools including JIRA, Visual Studio, GitHub, Spinnaker, YAML, Jenkins, Confluence, and Datadog.
  • AWS Cloud Experience. Docker, Containers and Microservices.
  • Modeling of complex scientific data using efficient Data Structures
  • Experience architecting complex systems considering scalability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Experience leading a team to successful product launch working within cross functional departments.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Chromatography systems and principles or with commercial Apps development for Analytical Instrumentation.
  • Experience creating roadmaps/milestones and report on risks and progress to project stakeholders.
  • Experience acting as the bridge between the technical team and the non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a cross functional product team with hardware and software components.
