Under general direction of the Staff Services Manager (SSM) II, the SSM I is responsible for directing the day to day activities of the Division of Law Enforcement's (DLE) Personnel Services Unit (PSU). This includes developing, planning, organizing, maintaining and directing complex and sensitive personnel activities for the DLE. The PSU completes a variety of personnel assignments; conducts project analyses; develops and maintains unit procedures; follows Division, Departmental, Department of Finance, Department of General Services, State Administrative Manual, and labor contract policies and procedures; works closely with bureau management, the DLE Office of the Chief (OC), and the Division of Operations, to develop and manage DLE's personnel activities. In response to critical workload, the SSM I may be required to work more than 40 hours a week due to DLE needs.

Working Conditions
DOJ has adopted telework for employees who can effectively perform their essential work functions remotely. After an initial training period, this position may allow for a hybrid telework model. All telework schedules are based on current conditions and may be re-evaluated as conditions change.
