JOB PURPOSE:

The Director of Inventory Management has direct responsibility for the management of the Zone Inventory Managers (ZIM) and is accountable for developing the ZIMs into trusted business partners to the Field Operational Leaders. They will oversee, plan, and direct all aspects of inventory and warehouse management policies, objectives, and initiatives, including education, learning and development. This position is responsible for the strategic development and execution of Numotion’s inventory planning, scheduling, and forecasting.

This position will maintain strong operational business relationships with VP & Director-level field leaders that will allow for their continued support and influence on inventory operations and metrics.

****KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

§ Lead physical inventory/cycle count operations and provides write-off/adjustment oversight, analysis, and approvals. Execute policies and procedures to reduce shrinkage/loss; Evaluate and monitor the success of these procedures and implement changes needed to maximize efficiency.

§ Lead inventory rebalancing and future Vendor Managed Inventory processes in coordination with Numotion’s Purchasing Dept.

§ Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to identify and prioritize initiatives to optimize inventory utilization and develop best practices.

§ Lead, train and mentor Zone Inventory Managers to ensure all operational processes and metrics that are defined in annual G/O’s process are managed and improved.

§ Recommend and develop the tools and systems for tracking, analysis, auditing, and reporting inventory and warehouse operational metrics.

§ Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual metrics that will reflect our inventory management system and its process; Collaborate with the respective leaders to help define and/or redefine those measurements to include, but not limited to inventory variance management., cancelled orders, returns, stock utilization, etc.

§ Collaborate with National Field ERP Director on training of branch ee’s/leaders on new processes associated with the use of D365 (i.e. inventory rebalancing, vendor managed inventory, demand planning/stocking).

§ Through coordination with Assistive Technology Professionals, Directors, Directors of Operations Fulfillment, and Task Every Day Temps, will manage cancelled orders and returns processes. If needed, will simplify return process for field personnel to achieve return target goals.

§ Utilize Numotion Leadership Principles to perform the job with integrity, compliance, and values consistent with Numotion’s mission.

§ Adhere to employee or customer confidentiality and comply with Numotion’s policies and federal regulations.

§ Always provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE :

§ Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.

§ Minimum of 5 years of supply chain/inventory management experience.

§ Minimum of two years of supervisory experience, including leading, mentoring and/or coaching.

§ Knowledge of Microsoft Products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Email.

§ Demonstrated ability to thrive in a matrixed environment, working with cross functional team members to achieve shared goals.

§ Demonstrated ability to act as a change agent and lead the acceptance of change within a rapidly changing environment.

§ Excellent organizational and time management skills with focus on set priorities.

PREFERRED COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS :

§ Demonstrated ability to lead remote teams in a matrixed environment with a national warehouse footprint of greater than fifty warehouses.

§ 3PL leadership experience: inventory planning, budgeting, controllership, and warehouse operations.

§ Demonstrated ability evaluated process effectiveness to drive continuous improvement and increase productivity.

§ Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively address all levels within the organization.

§ Collaborative – demonstrated ability to work with multiple layers of an organization and disparate teams to get aligned around the execution of shared goals.
