Job Overview
This role is pivotal in leading the Analytics, Data Science, Systems, and Process functions within Inventory Management and Merchandising Planning. The individual will spearhead a team, establishing a clear vision and strategic initiatives aimed at achieving superior sales performance, landed margin, and optimal on-shelf availability. Key responsibilities include systems development, advanced data modeling, simulation, process enhancement, automation, and project management, all with a focus on customer satisfaction across various channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance and implement upstream Supply Chain and Merchandise applications related to assortment optimization, channel clustering, demand forecasting, replenishment, allocation, and store communication.
- Utilize advanced supply chain and inventory management methodologies, employing inventory optimization, algorithms, statistics, regression, simulation, and programming languages (such as SQL and Python) to enhance sales and on-shelf availability through effective forecasting and analytics.
- Monitor and drive inventory quality metrics, including on-shelf availability, in-stock levels, days of supply, safety stock, excess inventory, clearance, and vendor performance in collaboration with broader Supply Chain and Merchandise teams.
- Create visualizations, reports, and insights across all facets of Inventory Management using various Business Intelligence tools.
- Optimize inventory deployment and maintain perpetual accuracy in an omni-channel environment to enhance primary fulfillment acceptance, thereby improving service and profitability.
- Lead internal project management teams to establish ROIs, prioritize initiatives, define scope, and deliver on Inventory and Merchandise planning projects.
- Apply continuous improvement methodologies to refine processes and workflow management, delivering higher quality results in a timely manner while minimizing workload.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain, Merchandising, Finance, and SSC functions to ensure alignment of long-term strategic, S&OP, and tactical plans, identifying opportunities and driving operational excellence.
- Oversee new store openings, emergency responses, and store communications.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Merchandising, Analytics, or Data Science.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Supply Chain Management, Merchandising, or Applied Mathematics is preferred, along with relevant experience in Supply Chain, Demand Planning, Forecasting, Inventory Optimization, and Assortment Planning applications. A suitable combination of education and experience will also be considered.

- Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time, with potential for emergency travel as business needs arise.
Working Conditions
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and sitting throughout the work shift.

- Typical warehouse environment with standard room temperatures and lighting.
- Significant travel by car or plane is required (75-85%).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
- Capable of sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, stooping, and bending.
- Competent in driving a vehicle and reaching overhead.
