We are actively recruiting a Business Analytics Developer for our client in Oak Ridge, TN. This is a contract opportunity that will require working onsite in Oak Ridge. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with expertise in MS Power BI development, a solid foundation in Data Science, and mid-level Machine Learning and ML Ops skills. Must be proficient in designing, developing, and deploying BI, Analytics, and ML tools to enhance and evolve business operations and scientific decision-making capabilities.

Due to client request, candidates must be U.S. citizens.

Major Duties/Responsibilities

Develop and support corporate reports and dashboards using PowerBI and other Microsoft reporting tools.

Use data warehouse technologies beyond Microsoft and SAP.

Apply SQL and ML experience to various use cases.

Develop and implement master data management strategies to ensure data accuracy, cleanliness, transformation, and accessibility.

Collaborate with business and technical customers to capture actionable requirements.

Analyze emerging trends and technologies to provide recommendations for BI strategies, including the use of Cubes, SSIS, Visual Studio, Azure Data Factory, SQL, SQL Azure, and ML techniques.

Collaborate with external organizations to understand capabilities.

Follow software quality assurance standards, ITIL practices, and project management requirements.

Provide training for end users on Business Intelligence tools and effective practices.

Promote a respectful workplace that encourages diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.

Basic Qualifications

A BS in computer science, data science, business analytics management, applied statistical analytics, or a related technical field of study and two (2) to four (4) years of relevant experience.

Prior experience in Microsoft Business Intelligence development, including requirements gathering, design, and deployment of reporting solutions.

Strong emphasis on customer and end-user satisfaction.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent client-facing skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.

Ability to innovate as work demands.

Creative problem-solving skills.

Experience creating BI solutions using MS Power BI, SQL, and MS Azure toolsets.

Experience with Microsoft SQL, Visual Studio or Visual Studio Code tools and APIs for analytic tool and visualization creation.

Experience with large dashboards, ETL tools, and methods (e.g., Power Query) or similar tools.

Preferred Qualifications

Expertise in Microsoft Power BI and data visualization to represent complex data concepts.

Understanding of ETL (extract, transform, load) frameworks.

Understanding of multidimensional and tabular modeling.

Experience using SQL Server Database engine (SSMS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).

Experience using Microsoft Visual Studio or Visual Studio Code, Python.

Experience with current Data Science or Data Analytic tools, including low code-no code.

Knowledge of business processes and applications (or similar) in a comparable environment.

Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint technologies.
