Overview

Directs the overall communications and marketing activities for the Health System in the areas of advertising, media relations, public relations, external and internal communications, e-health (Internet and Intranet), market research, community education and events. Develops and implements the marketing portion of the strategic plan to strengthen the hospital's position and image in the market and meet or exceed targeted volume, financial and market share goals.

Objectives of this role
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Community Wellness team to uncover insights for developing marketing and branding strategies for existing and new services.
  • Oversee and grow the marketing department by identifying revenue opportunities among established clients and by securing new corporate accounts.
Responsibilities
  • Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
  • Develops and directs implementation of the hospital's marketing plan by collaborating and partnering with other leaders.
  • Ensures the hospital's brand is consistently represented across all media deliverables by communicating brand standards to direct reports to ensure proper implementation.
  • Drives to position hospital as a national leader and bring national recognition to hospital by developing strong relationships with local and national media and overseeing media plan development and implementation in support of hospital goals and brand position.
  • Ability to assess new market and/or customer segments and development of appropriate strategies and tactics to drive penetration. Conduct landscape assessments.
Communications
  • Work with the PR team to identify and execute public relations efforts that align to branding and messaging
  • Identify and develop new topics and ideas to expand our thought leadership in the marketplace
  • Initiate processes for media inquiry responses and crisis communications, working closely with executive leadership to seek agreement on messaging strategy, timing and delivery
  • Overall responsibility for internal communication.
Required skills and qualifications
  • Successful track record in senior marketing role and campaign creation
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Experience in digital and print marketing, content marketing, and social media marketing
  • Proven ability to plan and manage budgets
Preferred skills and qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Master's preferred in marketing, advertising, or communications
  • 7 -10 years Marketing experience with 3-5 in leadership role. Preferably in healthcare
  • Proficiency with HTML, content management systems, and design software
  • Established roster of media and PR contacts
  • Desire to grow professionally through ongoing education
