Symmetry Partners is an investment advisory firm based in Glastonbury, CT that offers portfolio management services to institutional investors (i.e. public plans, non-profits), retirement plans and the clients of registered financial advisors. The operations department helps the firm serve its investors and financial advisors through ongoing support to help financial advisors grow their books of business. Over the last few years, the firm has grown in total assets and in customer-base and has ambitious goals for continued success. On Symmetry’s operations team, we take the quality of our work very seriously and pride ourselves in making the financial advisor’s experience better.

We’re looking for a self-starting problem solver with a strong sense of customer service who can think critically and enjoys building professional relationships. The ideal candidate patiently and relentlessly pursues the best solution to a given challenge and does so with an eye for both the big picture and each critical detail.

The following full-time position is available in our Operations Department:

OPERATIONS SPECIALIST

This position supports various functional areas of the department.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing new account paperwork and submitting for processing to custodian.
  • Monitoring and resolving alerts related to both new and existing accounts.
  • Reviewing, processing and validating account maintenance items for accounts.
  • Processing firm updates and third-party aggregation requests.
  • Gathering data for mass mailings upon request.
  • Receiving and Initiating contact with independent advisors via phone and email while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Working with custodial partners daily to facilitate back-office support.
  • Cross training on day-to-day processing, transfers, checks, conversion related tasks and other projects.
  • Provides clerical support including, filing, mailing, copying, scanning, and saving documentation.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of client interaction in CRM.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience in an operations or client service role.
  • Comfortable with direct client interaction with both internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work and learn in a high volume, fast paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, excellent interpersonal skills, strong organizational and the ability to communicate in a clear, well-organized manner in addition to building and maintaining business relationships.
  • Excellent relationship management aptitude, with demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Flexible and versatile with regard to both schedule and role.
  • Proficient technical skills such as: knowledge of Windows, navigating and researching database systems and experience with MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Prior experience working with Orion, Envestnet and Salesforce preferred.
