Job Overview

GFI is growing and seeking an experienced and motivated logistics coordinator responsible for overseeing all aspects of supply chain management. You will ensure that the right products are delivered to the right location on time and at a good cost and efficiently by supporting our operations team with specific planning, communication, data entry, processing paperwork, and support customer deliveries for a dedicated logistics account.

What does your day look like? Some of your duties may include:
  • Coordinate and monitor supply chain operations
  • Utilize logistics IT to optimize procedures
  • Ability to communicate with vendors, service providers, fleet drivers, etc. to achieve profitable deals and mutual satisfaction
  • Experience with carrier and customer sales, customer service, client relations
  • Plan and track the shipment of products according to customer or vendor requirements
  • Reviewing purchase orders and shipping documents to ensure accuracy
  • Good understanding of carrier management - responsible for arranging FTL and LTL backhauls for fleet assets to increase revenue
  • Develops quarterly RFPs, preform carrier reviews, and vendor reviews
  • Responsible for carrier onboarding and discovery
  • Solid understanding of end-to-end financial concepts related to logistics, including but not limited to invoice matching and financial reporting
  • Developing processes that make the supply chain more efficient and organized
  • Analyze data, and suggest modifications and improvements accordingly
  • Develops and maintains constructive and cooperative working relationships
Things you need to be able to do:
  • Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds above the waist as needed. Work in seasonal weather.
  • Familiarization with the geographical areas assigned willingness to make decisions independently to ensure all goals are met
  • Well-versed in supply chain management principles and practices
  • Deep functional knowledge of dry and refrigerated LTL and FTL processes, intermodal recommended
  • TMS experience - OTM recommended, not required
  • Knowledge of DOT laws and regulations
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills due to frequently talking to customers and drivers via phone or email
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and business managers
  • Strong interpersonal skills needed to interact with various roles within and outside the company
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities
  • Quick problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
  • Excellent organizational ability
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Things that are a plus:
  • Microsoft Office, thorough knowledge of DOT regulations
  • 3+ years in a transportation/food-related field and duties.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent, Bachelor's Preferred.
  • Logistics software experience TMS, ERP
  • Oracle experience recommended
