This individual will help drive a productive, compliant, and positive work environment that supports the overall success of the organization.
Responsibilities
Recruitment Coordination: Screen resumes, conduct initial interviews, coordinate interviews with hiring managers, and manage the recruitment process for various roles, especially drivers and logistics staff.
- Onboarding: Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring they receive necessary training, orientation, and access to required resources.
- Employee Support: Act as a point of contact for employees with HR-related questions or concerns, providing guidance and support on various issues.
- Conflict Resolution: Mediate and resolve workplace conflicts, ensuring a fair and consistent approach.
- Performance Reviews: Assist managers in conducting performance appraisals, providing tools and guidance for effective evaluations.
- Feedback and Development: Work with employees and managers to develop performance improvement plans and identify opportunities for professional development.
- Training Coordination: Schedule and facilitate training sessions on various topics, such as safety protocols, compliance, and professional skills.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all HR practices comply with federal, state, and local labor laws, as well as industry-specific regulations such as DOT requirements.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personal information, performance evaluations, and training certifications.
- Payroll Support: Assist with payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payment of wages.
- Benefits Administration: Manage employee benefits programs, answer benefits-related questions, and assist with open enrollment processes.
- Reporting: Generate and analyze HR reports and metrics to provide insights to management and inform decision-making.
- Special Projects: Participate in or lead HR projects and initiatives, such as implementing new HR systems, developing employee engagement programs, or conducting compensation reviews.
- Change Management: Support change management efforts, including communicating changes to employees and providing necessary training and support.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
- 4+ years of experience in HR or related field
- Strong organization, communication and conflict resolution skills
- Experience in leading HR initiatives and aligning HR strategies with business goals.
- Demonstrated ability to onboard new employees and manage HR tasks
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
