Job Summary

Aptive Resources is seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner specializing in Hematology/Oncology for a full-time position supporting the Durham VA Healthcare System. This role will involve providing advanced practice oncology care services, focusing on optimizing the "time to treatment" for cancer screening, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up surveillance. The position requires credentialing and privileging at the Durham VA Healthcare System, with a commitment to improving patient care delivery and contributing to the development of oncology programs.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm

Primary Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
  • TeleOncology Care: Provide high-quality oncology care through telehealth platforms, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up for oncology patients.
  • Patient Management: Focus on improving the "time to treatment" by efficiently managing cancer screening, diagnosis, and treatment processes.
  • Leadership and Innovation: Demonstrate leadership in patient care and program development to enhance the delivery of care for oncology patients. Act as a role model, change agent, and innovator within the organization.
  • Clinical Expertise: Utilize advanced knowledge to contribute to the management of complex oncology patient care across clinical areas and services.
  • Consultation and Collaboration: Work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and optimal treatment outcomes for oncology patients.
Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Certification: Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Preferred certification as an Advanced Oncology Certified Practitioner (AOCNP) from the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS).
  • Education: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree.
  • Experience: Demonstrated experience in oncology nursing with a focus on complex patient care and program development.
  • Licensure: Must hold a current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license.
  • Leadership: Proven track record of leadership and accomplishment in patient care or program development within the oncology specialty.
