The person will perform vital functions in more than one phase of bringing new technology to the market and also use their expertise to solve problems, develop, execute objectives for self, others and have the ability to affect short-term and some long-term business goals. Essential Responsibilities: • Work with sales & customers on product concepts or possible technical questions • Set Specifications for new products together with Marketing and our customers • Make prototypes of new products including 3D printed parts, conduct verifications and validation of new designs • Conduct final reviews of new products with Sales and Marketing before production to ensure that new products meet defined specifications and consumer requirements • Perform comparative, competitive analysis A/R • Create all necessary design packages for new products including 3D assembly drawings, detailed parts, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies of finished products with parts list • Create Part Numbers, Engineering Masters, Cost Sheets, Technical Specification Documents and approve drawings for assigned products • Work with Purchasing A/R. • Design and establish necessary tools, fixtures & sales demo units A/R. • Provide technical support to Sales, customers & other departments A/R. • Attend technical meetings/seminars and trade shows. Collect technology trend information on products related to Company’s business • Perform other tasks as assigned by Director of Engineering, EVP of Operations, or the President. Competencies /Skills: • Proficient in MS Office 365, CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor, AutoCad ; ERP software such as Visual Manufacturing or SAP; Smartsheet software. • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal in speaking with customers • Must be able to interpret a variety of instructions including written, oral, diagram and schedules; work on many different projects at one time with little to no supervision • Excellent writing, verbal communication, and organizational skills • Speaks clearly and can effectively present information in one-on-one and small group presentations • General engineering design, building of prototypes, experiment, and report skills in a manufacturing environment • Proficiency in designing for manufacturability, manufacturing concepts and technologies relating to sheet metal, machining, additive manufacturing, injection molding and assemblies • Remain open to other’s ideas; shares expertise with others; gives and welcomes feedback; applies feedback to improve performance; treats people with respect and consideration; listens to others without interrupting; contributes to building positive team spirit; asks and offers help as needed • Works with integrity, ethically and maintains confidentiality • Adheres to Policies and Procedures; upholds organizational values • Displays willingness to make timely decisions; resolves problems; exhibits sound and accurate judgement; supports and explains reasoning; includes appropriate people in decision-making process • Measures self against standard of excellence; reacts well under pressure; assesses own strengths and weaknesses; accepts responsibility for own actions • Meets productivity standards; strives to increase productivity, knowledge and skills; completes tasks correctly and on time; aligns work with strategic goals; looks for ways to improve and promote quality; displays orientation to profitability • Observes safety and security procedures; uses equipment and materials properly; reports potentially unsafe conditions • Is consistently at work and on time; commit to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals.
