**Role Purpose:**

Provide leadership, expertise, and practical support for Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Excellence in all CET manufacturing plants in NA, EMEA and APAC to ensure we have a rigorous EHS program that protects the safety of our employees, contractors and visitors at all times. Establish EHS standards, governance processes, training framework and improvement strategy with roadmap for sustainable performance. Ensure manufacturing practices are aligned with Cornings EHS strategies, philosophy, policies and local legislations and regulations. Develop technical solutions to improve Safe and compliant manufacturing capability.

This role requires working within a complex manufacturing structure at a plant, division (CET) and corporate (Corning Inc.) level. The work is multi-dimensional in the areas of regional, legal, and corporate regulations and compliance. It involves influencing sustainable change in cultural and technical aspects of manufacturing at all levels of the organization. Management involves working in a matrix organization structure with plant and Corporate EHS teams driving solutions in cooperation with plant operations, engineering, and technology resources.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Report to Environmental Technology (CET) Division Manufacturing Manager (DMM) on all aspects of EHS performance and improvements in CET Division.

* Develop and maintain a comprehensive assessment of manufacturing capability for EHS in CET plants determine current performance and capability. Work should include all aspects of manufacturing operator tools, process equipment, facility operations, maintenance and introduction of new technology.

* Develop and maintain an EHS Strategy that drives and delivers an improvement roadmap for EHS capability organizationally, technically, and culturally.

* Develop and maintain an EHS portfolio for Corporate, Division and Plant Programs deploy and drive a DMAIC approach for prioritized programs and track progress for key actions working with owning organizations at all levels (operators to Manufacturing and Engineering Corporate Council) with continuous improvement aligned with the EHS Strategies. Develop a consistent EHS Standard for all manufacturing locations that incorporates local codes and regulations, CET and Corporate standards for all people Corning employees, contractors, and visitors. This will include management and deployment of evolving changes in EHS Standard requirements

* Develop, manage and drive EHS Governance to ensure EHS Standards, Global Program initiatives and Global metrics are being implemented, maintained, improved and sustained.

* Develop and deploy EHS Improvement training that appropriately targets all levels of the organization Business Leadership, Manufacturing Leadership and all aspects of Manufacturing Operations/Engineering and Functional Groups.

**Experiences/Education:**

* Minimum BS (MS preferred) Safety and/or Environmental Engineering, or similar discipline.

* 7-10 years demonstrated manufacturing experience of EHS leadership across multiple sites and direct/indirect management of EHS professionals.

* Demonstrated manufacturing experiences in developing and deploying EHS Strategy and associated tactical plans to deliver targeted results. Desired is experience with a Systems and DMAIC approach.

* Demonstrated critical thinking skills, able to synthesize large amounts of data into action plans that will achieve desired results.

* Demonstrated effective influencing skills up/down/across organizations to generate positive change and achieve EHS objectives.

* Demonstrated strong ownership of results via hands-on engagement with sites and flexing work activities to achieve results despite changing environments.

* Demonstrated manufacturing experience on a global basis international work experience in multiple plant environments and cultures is preferable.

* Knowledge and experience in EHS Regulatory and Legal requirements and industry direction.

* 40% travel domestic and international. On occasion, travel can be in periods of 2 weeks or longer.
