Seeking an experienced civils safety manager on behalf of an established multi-division contractor in NY.


This client, founded in 1995, has evolved into a leading construction firm, specializing in a multitude of disciplines including civil construction, concrete, masonry, plastering, drywall, and acoustic solutions. They have successfully completed projects valued at nearly $1 billion, solidifying their reputation as a leader in the industry. They're currently actively growing out a safety division and looking for talented safety managers to spear head the operations.


Responsibilities:

  • Conducting regular site inspections
  • Identifying potential hazards and enforcing compliance with safety regulations
  • Leading safety training sessions for the crew
  • Investigating incidents and compiling detailed reports
  • Collaborating with project managers and supervisors to promote a culture of safety
  • Ensuring proper use and maintenance of safety equipment
  • Preparing and updating safety documentation and manuals
  • Coordinating emergency response drills and procedures


Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ten (10) years of experience as a safety manager
  • Experience as the head of safety on at least one (1) transit or bridge project
  • Successful completion of the 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety and Health (29 CFR 1926) course.
  • Successful completion of 4-hour scaffold user course by a NYC Department of Buildings authorized scaffold training school or person
  • Posssess certification as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or Construction Health & Safety Technician
