Accounts Receivable SupervisorClick Here to Apply OnlineJob DescriptionLocation: Steward Medical Group - NorthPosted Date: 12/4/2023Steward Medical Group at Hawthorn is looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated Accounts Receivable Supervisor with a positive attitude, along with the ability to work both independently and on a team in a fast-paced environment. Under the direction of the Director, Revenue Cycle the Supervisor is responsible for supervising the daily department operations and overseeing the work of the AR Specialists including the quality of all employees' performance, resolving conflicts within the workplace and completing administrative tasks. The supervisor may also be directly involved with the hiring, training, coaching, and disciplinary action of assigned employees. Supervisor oversees AR Specialist workflow and ensures all work is on track and completed timely and tracks trends to facilitate process improvements in edits and denial management.Responsibilities also include: Maximize revenue in accordance with billing guidelines and minimize outstanding Accounts Receivable.Planning, prioritizing and scheduling work, assigning work, amending or rejecting completed work, assuring requirements are met, adjusting staffing levels, appraising performance and recommending performance standards and ratings.Reviewing and approving time off requests and time cards.Documenting staff issues and taking minor disciplinary actions if necessary. Conduct 1:1 meetings with staff to review workload/flows and update department processes and update performance reports. Gather and analyze information and reports to provide information to the Manager/Director on the team's progress in meetings or through regular email contact or reports. Should a conflict arise, the Supervisor must work with staff to solve the conflict quickly and effectively and update the Manager/Director on the progress. Log all projects/tasks and track/monitor all department assignments. Coordinate Follow-Up meetings with individual staff as needed to ensure all 'assignments' are being worked and to ensure all deadlines are met.Train or arrange training for team members in team-building and teamwork, as well as in technical areas needed to accomplish team goals. Maintain reference materials, project files, and background documents; hand down policies, procedures and instructions from the Manager/Director; keep current on policies and directives to answer team members' questions. Ensure the strategic plan, mission vision and values are communicated to the team and are integrated in its goals, objectives and work. Work with Manager/Director in developing new processes and procedures to improve quality and quantity of work.Estimate and report on the team's progress meeting deadlines and make sure all members participate in planning team goals and objectives. Work with Manager/Director in assessing team weaknesses and strengths. Position Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Business office Administration, Health Care Management or related field preferred and years experience in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum 2-3 years of supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of third party payer requirements and guidelinesMust possess strong analytical skills, accurate typing and computer skills; including Outlook, Excel and Word.Ability to handle sensitive matters on a confidential basis.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Ability to multitask and work under stressful conditions. Ability to work in a busy office environment with frequent deadlines and interruptions. Able to adjust to changes and adapt to new processes.Ability to research issues and to recommend feasible solutions.Advanced knowledge of and ability to use computers and related software, including MS Excel spreadsheet, Word and Email.Hawthorn Medical Associates, an affiliate of Steward Health Care, was established in 1970 and is the largest multi-specialty group practice in the Greater New Bedford area.
