GENERAL PURPOSE

Leads specialized finance-related activities in support of multiple/large projects/ functions or major business units/product lines. Area supported is a major element of the organization's business/operations. Assignments typically provide exposure to the most complex financial concepts, issues, and activities.

Essential Functions

Responsible for a substantial portion MillerKnoll’s SEC reporting, consolidation accounting and technical accounting matters. Works closely with the Sr. Manager of Accounting and Consolidation on all of the company's SEC reporting, including 10-K, 10- Q, 11-K and S-8 filings. Manages portions of the monthly consolidation and financial statement close process. Leads technical accounting research projects and helps develop MillerKnoll’s position on new accounting pronouncements. Technical accounting projects are primarily focused on US GAAP but may also include IFRS components. Leads activities in support of multiple/large projects, including involvement in both technical accounting and implementation phases of various business combinations and divestitures. Coordinates, oversees and liaisons with external auditors to ensure the accuracy of MillerKnoll’s accounting and reporting. Collaborates with Management to provide strategic guidance and sound business decision support through proper financial analysis, collaboration and critical thinking. Conducts activities in accordance with GAAP and established MillerKnoll’s guidelines. Confers with leadership and internal business partners on unusual issues/situations and in identifying reporting requirements. Coordinates /oversees and liaisons with MillerKnoll’s finance, both domestic and international. Develops and independently implements work strategies to achieve desired results. Leads activities in support of multiple/large projects/ functions or major business units/product lines. Leverages extensive internal/external contacts at all levels in the organization. May provide support on special projects, as they arise, such as business acquisitions, divestitures or new products. Provides professional mentoring to less experienced team members. Summarizes financial performance, identifies key performance indicators, and facilitates action plans to address significant risks and opportunities. Works with cross-functional areas to identify and implement continuous process improvements. Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or equivalent experience 6 + years of experience in professional finance position or 4+ Years in Public Accounting CPA - Certified Public Accountant Preferred.

Skills And Abilities

Highly developed and thorough knowledge and expertise in finance area of specialty resulting in the confidence to advise, influence and partner with various groups to affect change, guide business decisions and identifying reporting needs.

Must have well developed interpersonal, communication skills and facilitation skills. Highly developed analytical skills necessary to analyze problems and generate new ideas and solutions. Demonstrated ability to identify, define, and resolve complex problems/projects/programs as well as the ability to identify trends and issues. Proven ability to accomplish desired objectives / outcomes by influencing individuals at all levels, including internal and external management. Demonstrated ability to establish and implement policy and procedures in key areas. Demonstrated ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams and manage projects. Demonstrated ability to use office automation, communication, software and tools currently used in the MillerKnoll’s office environment including a thorough understanding of financial software, MillerKnoll’s information systems, data warehouse and ability to use Business Intelligence tools. Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position with or without accommodations.

Additional Skills And Abilities

Strong knowledge of US GAAP is required; experience with SEC reporting and IFRS preferred. Experience with Workiva or other on-line SEC filing tools is preferred.
