GENERAL OVERVIEW
Oversees specialized financial operations in support of significant projects or major business units. The area of focus is a critical component of the organization's overall business strategy. Assignments typically involve complex financial concepts and challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a significant portion of MillerKnoll's SEC reporting, consolidation accounting, and technical accounting issues.
- Collaborate closely with the Senior Manager of Accounting and Consolidation on all SEC reporting tasks, including 10-K, 10-Q, 11-K, and S-8 filings.
- Supervise segments of the monthly consolidation and financial statement closing process.
- Lead technical accounting research initiatives and assist in formulating MillerKnoll's stance on new accounting standards.
- Focus primarily on US GAAP, with potential involvement in IFRS elements.
- Direct activities supporting substantial projects, including both technical accounting and implementation phases of various business combinations and divestitures.
- Coordinate and liaise with external auditors to ensure the integrity of MillerKnoll's accounting and reporting.- Partner with management to deliver strategic insights and robust business decision support through thorough financial analysis, collaboration, and critical thinking.
- Conduct activities in compliance with GAAP and established MillerKnoll guidelines.- Engage with leadership and internal stakeholders on unique issues and identify reporting requirements.
- Coordinate and oversee interactions with MillerKnoll's finance teams, both domestically and internationally.
- Develop and implement effective work strategies to achieve targeted outcomes.
- Direct activities supporting significant projects or major business units.
- Utilize extensive internal and external networks at all organizational levels.
- Provide assistance on special projects as they arise, such as business acquisitions, divestitures, or new product launches.
- Mentor less experienced team members professionally.
- Summarize financial performance, pinpoint key performance indicators, and facilitate action plans to address significant risks and opportunities.
- Collaborate across functions to identify and implement continuous process enhancements.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as required to meet business objectives.
Qualifications
- Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years in a professional finance role or 4+ years in Public Accounting.
- CPA - Certified Public Accountant preferred.

- Demonstrated success in achieving desired outcomes by influencing individuals at all organizational levels, including internal and external management.
- Proven ability to establish and implement policies and procedures in key areas. Demonstrated effectiveness in leading cross-functional teams and managing projects.
- Proficient in using office automation, communication software, and tools currently utilized in MillerKnoll's office environment, including a thorough understanding of financial software, MillerKnoll's information systems, and data warehousing, along with the ability to utilize Business Intelligence tools.
- Must be capable of performing all essential functions of the position with or without accommodations.Additional Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP is required; experience with SEC reporting and IFRS is preferred. Familiarity with Workiva or other online SEC filing tools is advantageous.
