The Sr Business Development Manager has the responsibility to manage and achieve the strategically aligned business development directives of EHS through direct collaboration with Executives, Physicians, and Service Line Leaders in the identification, design, and promotion of current, new, and or, expanded initiatives and services. Position works to assess, analyze, develop and implement strategic and financially feasible business opportunities that will expand EHS' capabilities and strategically align EHS with local and regional healthcare entities as well as identify new markets and service opportunities to expand the EHS' reach. Drive growth for targeted EHS service lines by advancing relationships with physicians (employed as well as independent), hospital leadership and pre and post hospital agencies ensuring compliance with all regulations governing the delivery of health care services and the rules of accrediting bodies, while ensuring compliance with internal EHS compliance standards.

Oversee changes in regional physician coverage and hospital services, responding to opportunities for partnerships and specialty growth. This individual will work closely with representatives from finance, legal, information technology, marketing and service line leadership to take advantage of the synergy associated with multi-disciplinary team approach to business development. Work directly with EHS Strategy and Service Line leaders to produce analytical reports which identify trends with actionable conclusions through review and analysis of internal and external market data, demographics, utilization data, reimbursements and regulatory trends. Classify and report barriers in accessing EHS services and Providers that are experienced by physicians, hospitals and other healthcare agencies. Coordinate the development of financial models to evaluate potential business opportunities; develop and produce gap and retrospective analyses such that EHS may ascertain root cause(s) when business development projects do not achieve the metrics used to approve the business plan. Provide managerial coordination and execution of local and regional activities, programs and educational events that promote and support EHS services.

Education:

Required: Bachelor's Degree. If candidate has less work experience than required, then an advanced degree is required (strong preference for MBA or MHA from an accredited graduate school).

Preferred: MHA or MBA or equivalent experience Ideal candidate would have work experience with broad understanding of all aspects of health care services.

Experience:

Seven or more years of healthcare experience in strategically identifying, developing and assisting with business development opportunities. By nature of the position, a high degree of professionalism is required dealing with highly sensitive data and information requiring the use of tact, diplomacy, discretion, judgment and independent decision making. Knowledge of health care delivery systems, both acute and ambulatory. Previous demonstrated leadership experience in development, physician relations, marketing, and service excellence. Experience utilizing strong communication skills and multi-project coordination. Past successes in leading growth initiatives. Demonstrated ability in leading or facilitating teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.

Employee Competency and Performance Assessment

The Senior Business Development Manager will represent Erlanger Health System to all local and regional providers, facilities and agencies. The SBDM is responsible to achieve the business growth initiatives of EHS through the direct promotion and advancement of EHS employed physicians and EHS product lines and services. Work closely with Executive Leadership and Service Line Administrators to develop initiatives that result in increased targeted market share and enhanced quality and resource utilization (value creation).

Core responsibilities:

Provide managerial coordination and execution of local and regional development initiatives, activities and programs that promote and support EHS. Produce, review and analyze internal and external market data, responding with an action plan to address opportunities. Stay current on industry trends and changes that may impact EHS's business development efforts. Identify, classify and report barriers in accessing EHS services that are experienced by physicians, hospitals and pre-hospital agencies. Assist in the removal or resolution of such barriers as possible. Work collaboratively with Service Line Teams and attend all pertinent, related meetings. Maintain Strong Regional presence via routine travel in the region for the maintenance and growth of market share. Determine the fiscal needs of the department and submit budget recommendations.
