Role
The Senior Accountant is responsible for the accounting and controlling scope end-to-end for the United States as well as review of work for the broader global team. He/she should ensure that local financial statements are produced accurately, timely, and documented appropriately as per group policies. This implies direct communication, support, coordination, and transparency with operational teams and management. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of US GAAP accounting principles and methodologies. He/she directly supports the group controller.
Responsibilities
- Act as business partner for the local entity functions
- Assist with global review of general reconciliations
- Ensure proper accounting for all subsidiary ledgers:
- Cash management: reconcile bank statements to ERP transactions
- Payroll*: prepare, process, and record in coordination with HR
- Intercompany: reconcile AP/AR with group entities
- Expenses* (incl. company credit cards statements): review as per group policy, and record as required
- Payables: record invoices, review, and process payments in coordination with FP&A
- Receivables: review invoices and ensure timely revenue recognition in coordination with SCM
- Fixed assets: record assets, account for depreciation, follow-up as required
- General ledger: reconcile with subsidiary ledgers, and record any necessary adjustment
- Provide support for controlling and external reporting:
- Audit: produce account reconciliation documentation following internal policies and controlling procedures
- Prepare and analyze cost reports and financial statements to determine the efficiency of operations.
- Prepare global review of margin across the company
- Assist in cost accounting related projects
- Education: BSc accounting
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably with experience in a manufacturing or production industry.
- Public accounting experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP accounting principles and practices.
- Oracle Fusion ERP experience (optional)
- Specific skills: at ease with data (extract and prepare for analysis and reporting) = ERP, Excel (advanced), PowerBI (optional)
- Profile: performance and process oriented, committed, and self-driven
- Certifications: CPA or CCA (preferred)
