Job Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibility is to manage global trade software and timely submission of entries to US Customs
  • Selects mode of transportation for products from source to destination, considerations include quality/condition of equipment, dependability/reliability of service, cost, in-transit tracking capabilities, etc.
  • Builds routes in an expeditious and accurate manner to achieve on-time loading (warehouse), on-time departure (transportation) and on-time delivery (customer)
  • Develops strong relationships with Inbound Transportation staff
  • Communicates with dispatchers to ensure timely and accurate movement of loads
  • Identifies, provides support, and works to resolve transportation, retailer, and vendor issues
  • Prioritizes tasks to assure that activities are completed as planned
  • Looks for opportunities to create transportation efficiencies
  • Works well under pressure, be prompt, accurate and well organized
  • Demonstrates a sense of priority, reasonableness, and timeliness
  • Uses time management skills to prioritize goals and efficiently utilize limited resources
  • Maintains flexibility to adapt to a constantly changing work environment and is flexible to complete both recurring-task based as well as project-oriented workloads
  • Responsible for reviewing, approving, and tracking freight invoices
Requirements
  • One or more years' experience in logistics, transportation, or related functions
  • Minimum H.S. Diploma or GED
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; capability to understand written and verbal instructions in English as well as demonstrate proficient ability to speak English
  • Resiliency to embrace challenges and strive to find creative solutions
  • Strong sense of teamwork and commitment to the larger organization
  • Demonstrated problem solving, negotiation, interpersonal communication, and active listening skills
  • Advanced computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (data entry, email, customer, and order management software
