Reporting to the Director of Retirement & Financial Well-being, this position is primarily responsible for daily administration of GEICO's retirement plans and financial well-being programs. This role will oversee 401(k), pension, non-qualified and financial well-being programs. This candidate will serve as a key member of the Total Rewards team and will work closely with internal groups (e.g., HR, Finance, Legal, Tax, Controllers, Procurement, Internal Communications) to deliver best-in-class Total Rewards programs and develop an overall strategy for financial well-being for our associates.

Responsibilities
  • Manage 401(k) plan, non-qualified, and define benefit retirement programs including vendor assessment, program financials and policies.
  • Ensure company compliance with provisions of ERISA and other legislative requirements; coordinates preparation of retirement plan regulatory filings with federal and state agencies, including IRS, DOL, PBGC and other regulatory agencies
  • Partner with retirement plan vendors to optimize the employee experience
  • Develop, implement, communicate, and evaluate well-being programs to support employees' financial well-being and other communication programs. Identify and incorporate diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in retirement benefits programs
  • Evaluate the effectives of all retirement programs, policies, guidelines and procedures and recommend plan revisions or new plans that are cost-effective and consistent with trends and objectives
  • Assist in the identification of compliance issues in retirement plans, calculate corrections and draft submissions for the IRS and DOL correction programs
  • Lead the team in development of sound processes and procedures
  • Interpret and apply laws, regulations, judicial precedent, and other guidance
  • Perform additional relevant duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or related area
  • CEBS or ASPPA designations preferred
  • 7+ years of experience working in the design and administration of multiple retirement and well-being programs
  • Strong project management, process development and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to perform detailed analysis of problems and identify resolutions; understands when and how to escalate issues to manage risk
  • Ability to handle confidential information, work independently within broad guidelines and policies, exercise solid judgement and build business cases to support recommendations
  • Results-oriented; successfully handles multiple tasks, takes initiative to improve his/her own performance, works intensely towards challenging goals and persists in the face of obstacles or setbacks while maintaining quality of work
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and compliance requirements related to retirement plans (such as ERISA, Fiduciary responsibilities)
  • Strong written and oral communication, presentation, and influencing skills and the ability to deliver exceptional client service
  • Able to thrive in both in office and/or virtual work environment where teams may be spread amongst multiple locations
  • The ideal candidate will be a resourceful team player and thought leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interest in and knowledge of retirement, benefits, and financial well-being leading practices
  • Advanced computer literacy: advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office package, especially Excel
