Position: Senior Content Strategist Department: Creative Services Reporting to: Director of Strategic Communications Location: Lenexa, KS/ Topeka, KS - Onsite Overview: As our Senior Content Strategist, you'll be a key player in shaping the voice and vision of Advisors Excel's marketing efforts. You'll collaborate closely with the Director of Strategic Communications, developing content that not only captures attention but also drives action. Whether it's a punchy tagline for a digital campaign or an in-depth white paper on financial trends, your work will resonate across multiple platforms. This role isn't just about creating content-it's about leading the charge. You'll mentor a team of talented writers, oversee interns and freelancers, and contribute to the overall strategic direction of our communications. What you'll do: Craft compelling, sales-driven content in partnership with designers and videographers, ensuring all materials align with our brand voice and goals Develop and implement content strategies across digital and print media, websites, case studies, and more Research and write white papers on financial topics, positioning Advisors Excel as a leader in the industry Lead editorial planning for the AE Insider magazine, website, and digital campaigns, staying ahead of industry trends Mentor and coach copywriters and editors, fostering a culture of creativity and continuous improvement Manage interns and freelance writers, ensuring high-quality work and adherence to deadlines Lead team development sessions, brainstorm innovative solutions, and contribute to process improvements Attend monthly coaching calls and meet with stakeholders to identify relevant and timely content Keep tabs on industry trends, collaborate with stakeholders, and plan editorial content for whitepapers and other needs Work closely with stakeholders, compliance teams, and clients to ensure content meets all regulatory requirements and client needs Perform other duties as needed, adapting to the ever-evolving needs of our team Experience you'll bring: 5 years of experience in advertising copywriting, preferably within financial services A bachelor's degree in advertising, marketing, or a related field, plus an impressive portfolio showcasing your skills Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines Ability to pitch ideas confidently and build strong relationships with clients Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Bonus Points: Understanding of financial products like annuities, life insurance, and investments, along with compliance regulations Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator & Photoshop) Experience with AI content generation tools What you'll get: Amazing benefits including medical, dental, vision and 401k (with matching options) Generous PTO package upon your start date Access to an on-site caf, gym and primary care Continuous personal and professional development opportunities Recognition for hard work & exemplary performance Employee sponsored eventsand more Who We Are: Advisors Excel is a fast-paced, innovative company that seeks to service independent financial advisors in a multitude of areas within their business.
