This position can be either in-office or hybrid from one of our offices in Helena, MT, Loveland, CO, Salina, KS, or Wichita, KS.
What the team does: Provide all levels of bookkeeping, financial and tax services to over 25 subsidiaries and related entities of the Pinion company.
The Internal Accountant demonstrate the following:
Capability to uphold strict confidentiality
Attention to detail and accuracy
Top notch in prioritization and organization
Excellent internal and external customer service skills
Solid oral and written communication skills
Ability to consistently meet deadlines
Effectiveness in working independently
Accounts Payable
Reviews and verifies invoices, code invoices, and inputs into accounts payable software for payment
Prepares and processes electronic payments and check runs
Researches and resolves invoice discrepancies
Corresponds with vendors as needed and responds to internal and external inquiries
Bank Reconciliations
Accounts Receivable
Posts daily cash receipts to client accounts
Posts adjustments on an as needed basis
Researches client billing inquiries
Calls clients with past due balances on an as needed basis
Assists with client credits
Assists in maintaining financial records and ensuring that financial transactions are properly recorded on a GAAP basis
Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger
Compiles financial data to aid in the preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports
Tax
Prepare schedules for tax return preparation
Prepare income and property tax returns
Prepare sales tax returns
Other
Review expense reports
Prepare annual secretary of state filings
Prepare annual accounting survey
Fixed asset reconciliations and depreciation calculations
What you will need for this position:
Bachelor’s degree or greater in business, accounting, finance, or a related field
At least 3 years of experience in public accounting (CPA not required)
Preferred experience using QuickBooks Enterprise, QBO, NAV
Experience with financial reporting
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to articulate financial information
Experience leading and mentoring other team members
Technical training abilities

In some states and municipalities, Pinion is required by law to include a reasonable estimate for range of compensation. When making compensation decisions, Pinion takes into account a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, skills, certifications/licenses, and geographic location. The wide range for this role reasonably accounts for these factors. Specific compensation decisions are made based on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $65,000 to $78,000.
