We are driven by our core values: respect, innovation, and collaboration. About the Role The Human Resources Coordinator is an integral part of Latham’s Human Capital & Talent team. This role will be responsible for providing fundamental human capital life cycle support to the Human Capital & Talent (HC&T) department and their assigned office(s) or function(s), while serving as a point of contact for all human resources questions, including but not limited to Paid Time Off (PTO), timekeeping system application, benefits eligibility, leave eligibility, accommodation requests, and recruiting. This role will be located in our Washington, D.C. location. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence. Responsibilities & Qualifications Other key responsibilities include: Facilitating connection with appropriate functional departments and providing updates to their HR team members as needed. Leveraging their knowledge of the firm’s human resources policies to answer most questions independently; using appropriate judgment to collaborate and escalate complex questions and issues as appropriate; following up to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner. Supporting Peoplesoft reporting and timekeeping activities, including working with the Human Resources Operations team to adjust entries in Kronos, following up with managers and supervisors to ensure all timecards are approved, using Kronos and PeopleSoft to generate reports, answering routine questions about timekeeping and the timekeeping system, and ensuring FLSA standards are met. Coordinating new hire orientation and working with the hiring manager(s) and the global HC&T community to develop an agenda, schedule presenters, and support programs to facilitate new employee integration during the first year of employment to meet the firm’s objectives for new hire retention. Supporting employee life cycle processes (e.g., transfers, promotions, departures) and coordinating changes with the appropriate departments. Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains. We’d love to hear from you if you: Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of human resources functions. Display well-developed and professional interpersonal skills. Possess the ability to cultivate relationships across teams and all organizational levels of the firm. And have: A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent. A focus in a related field, preferably. A minimum of four (4) years of HR experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. A minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience.
