About the Organization & Opportunity:

  • The AP Accountant will work on a team of 7 - tenured employees. The newest hire was in 2021

Responsibilities of the AP Accountant:

  • Day to day input, filing, coding review
  • Full cycle ap - 200+ invoices/month + travel & expense reports (travel is starting to pick up)- all done in SAP (also use Excel).
  • Involved in the closing process - working with lead accountants in closing ap, putting together accrual schedules for ap for each entity. Not huge, but very methodical.
  • Other projects as needed
  • Challenge could be the learning curve to get up to speed on SAP, if someone doesn't have SAP, it may take some time, but team can train to get up to speed on SAP

Preferred Qualifications of the AP Accountant:

  • Seasoned enough with ap that they won't require extensive training (at least a couple of years of experience), understands the whole ap process, know that at the end of the month, there's a "shut off"/close and understand they'll be helping accountants get info for accruals
  • SAP experience would be a great or another large ERP
  • Degree is a plus but not required
  • Excel - Basic to intermediate level experience

Personality Fit of the AP Accountant:

  • Understands that the work comes first.
  • Patient
  • Strong attention to detail, not just entering info, should go back and double check one's work to confirm accuracy
  • Communication is key: Self-sufficient
  • Works well with others
  • The AP Accountant needs to be focused on the work in order to meet tight deadlines
  • Levelheaded
  • Takes initiative and notes
