The individual will perform engineering work for electrical and I&C projects within the engineering organization. Some engineering work may also include digital and software focused items. Current qualification at a nuclear utility as a Modification Engineer under an INPO Accredited Program and knowledge of Nuclear Asset Suite (NAS) for design and work order reviews is highly desirable. Experience in the Operations department is considered a desirable trait as well. Individuals will be required to obtain qualifications for a Modification Engineer and Design Verification Engineer prior to working independently. Selected individual will act as the Lead Technical and/or Responsible Engineer for assigned projects and in a support capacity on other projects.Current projects the selected individual is likely to lead or support include: Replacement of 4kV Non-Segregated Bus with Cable Bus, Installation of Safety Related Alternate Battery Chargers, Motor Operated Valve Replacements, Nuclear Security System Upgrades, Transmission Line Panel Upgrades, 4kV to 480V Transformer Replacements, and HVAC System Upgrades. Individuals will be required to qualify in the necessary duty areas to act independently as a Responsible Engineer for modifications with past qualifications and product demonstration from other utilities as an acceptable alternative. Lastly, the individual will be expected to exhibit sound technical judgment and provide guidance to the engineering and implementation teams.DNJP19594 - ELECTRICAL ENGINEER SME - SOUTHPORT, NC - 16 MONTHS Job RequirementsDetails: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:* Bachelor"s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent BS degree with relevant work experience* 15+ years engineering experience in the nuclear industry with experience in Electrical / I&C Design Modification preparation* Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access to a nuclear facility (General Employee Training, Radiation Worker Training, Security Clearance checks and subject to the site"s Fitness for Duty Program)* Strong oral / written communication skills within a professional environment* Skilled in the practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations and preparing and presenting recommendations.* Must be able to work in a team environmentPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:* Registration/Licensure as a Professional Engineer* Electrical / I&C / Digital engineering experience* Experience in the 10CFR50.59 with respect to designing modifications to a nuclear facility* Working level knowledge of ETAP software program.* Working level knowledge of nuclear industry cyber security control practices* Experience with nuclear industry standard design process
