Power Electronics Engineer

Job Description
We are seeking Electrical Engineers specializing in Power Electronics Hardware Design. The role involves the design and testing of SiC-based power electronic converter topologies, including active rectifiers, isolated DC-DC converters, solid-state-transformers, and high-speed motor drives. Other responsibilities include the design and testing of DSP-based digital control algorithms, FPGA supported modulators, and PLC based high-level system controllers. Detailed PCB designs including SiC gate drivers, system control PCBs, and support hardware are also part of the job. Experience with medium voltage power distribution, solid-state-transformers, surge protection, and medium voltage isolation requirements will be highly desirable.

Work Site
This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Baltimore, Maryland and some days remote.
Work Environment
Our office is located in an Office Space / R&D/ Manufacturing, Lab space right outside of Baltimore City. Our 'Power Systems' group is made up of around 35 employees, including Engineering, Design/ Drafting, Management, Operations, Quality, Production/ Manufacturing, Administrative, Contracts, etc. The company overall has a close-knit team of 55-60 people.
