Sr. Human Resources Business Partner

Reporting to the Administrator of Human Resources, the Senior HR Business Partner (Sr. HRBP) will work in partnership with assigned business units, which are generally larger and more complex.

As the strategic partner to the business leaders, the Sr. HRBP will ensure that the implemented HR strategies enable the business units to meet their objectives and are aligned with the company's people and business strategies.

As the primary HR contact, the Sr. HRBP will focus on building and maintaining collaborative partnerships with NJM business leaders and leveraging the expertise of the HR specialty areas as appropriate to proactively address specific business needs.

The Sr. HRBP will assess business issues and needs for their assigned departments and will provide direction in determining HR Solutions that support business goals.

This is afull-time hybrid position that is partially remote and partially based in our West Trenton, New Jersey corporate office (on-site 3-days a week). The successful candidate will travel to our Hammonton and Parsippany, New Jersey offices as required.

The compensation for this position is likely to fall in the $116,000 to $146,000 a year range annually with a 7.5% annual incentive opportunity. The salary will be commensurate with experience and credentials. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Senior HR Business Partner will:
  • Provide coaching and support to the business leaders in the full range of workforce planning activities including the development of the strategic business plan and performance goals, staffing plans, skill gap analysis, job and organizational design and competency models. As part of providing this support, the Senior HRBP will call upon the technical expertise of the HR Specialists as needed.
  • Provide talent management expertise to their business customers by facilitating succession planning, including identification of high potential employees and top performers; development planning; and performance management.
  • Interpret and apply NJM policies to solve complex Employee Relations and Performance issues and recommend appropriate action via the disciplinary process. Provide guidance to the business to limit legal exposure.
  • Provide advice and counsel to business leaders in the utilization of change management methodologies and tools.
  • Analyze data trends and metrics to inform business decisions.
  • Partner with the business and HR specialty areas (to design employee development solutions that enhance skills and build organizational capabilities.
  • May be assigned projects or other initiatives.

Education and Experience:
  • 8-10 years of experience as an HR Business Partner supporting multiple business units/departments; experience working closely and collaboratively with a team of other HR Business Partners to execute team and organizational goals and initiatives highly desirable
  • 6-8 years of employee relations experience including demonstrated competence in successfully handling issues of various degrees of complexity. Depth of knowledge needed as it relates to Federal, State and local labor laws and regulations
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Prior work experience in the Property/Casualty industry strongly preferred
Certifications or Licenses:
  • PHR/SPHR and/or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification a plus
